Received letter from Royal Mail advising they had destroyed my Guerlain Perfume

I sold a nearly full bottle of GUERLAIN perfume to a UK buyer.  Received letter from Royal Mail advising they had destroyed it under the Dangerous Goods Act.  Told the buyer, tried to cancel transaction but she declined.  She opened a case in USA Resolution Centre.  They did not understand problem with Royal Mail and closed Case in favour of buyer.  Ebay now requesting a refund from me in US $.  What can I do.  I can’t get Ebay USA to understand that the item was posted but was destroyed,  therefore not my fault.  Why should I have to pay.  I’ve already lost a £65 bottle of perfume.  I have now found out that we can’t send perfume through the post.  Why is there still a facility on eBay to sell perfume.  Surely this should now be removed.
