seller arranged for return,item lost in post

I bought an item on ebay and payed via Paypal.

item was faulty,I contacted buyer (a reputable company) via provided telephone number and they agreed to refund me and arranged  collection of the item via courier service from my location.

 

item was collected by Parcel Force from me and I have a tracking number.as I said buyer arranged and booked currier.

 

it’s been 8 days and it seems item have been lost,when I try to track the item,it shows that the item has been collected from me but nothing else afterwards.I contacted Parcel Force multiple times and they are not helpful at all.

 

I contacted the seller and they said once they receive the item I will receive my refund.

 

what should I do? I did not book the currier and I didn’t arrange for returning the item,so I’m not responsible for loss of the item,it’s seller who arranged for collection of the item and they were responsible for purchasing insurrance etc in case of loss.

 

should I open a case on ebay? or on paypal?

how can I mention that the seller themselves arranged for returning the item?

I bought the item 20 days ago is there a deadline approaching?
