I sold a pair of AKG headphones via ebay. I offered free shipping and accepted international buyers.
A buyer purchased and paid for the item, and I shipped it to the address provided to me when I purchased shipped through ebay. This address is the address in Erlanger, Kentucky, which ebay uses for international buyers. The buyer in this case is in Spain.
Ebay’s global shipping program offers the following assurance:
You aren’t responsible for item loss or damage that occurs after the item is forwarded by the US shipping center. Once an item has been forwarded by the US shipping center, you won’t be responsible for refunding the buyer if an eBay Money Back Guarantee or PayPal Purchase Protection case is filed against you for one of the following reasons:
A buyer claims an item isn’t received or
A package is damaged in transit
The buyer has zero feedback. I would not have sold to him otherwise, but he won the option and paid. Ebay said ship, I shipped
Buyer then appealed the transaction through paypal. Says he just got an empty box, which is baloney. Paypal sided with him – apparently discussed it over the phone with the buyer but didn’t give me the chance to give my side.
Ebay says I should have gotten the refund and been protected. But since the buyer filed a claim through paypal, they aren’t going to protect me.
Virlet in the claims department just informed me that I needed to contact my global shipping company. But I didn’t ship globally. She wants me to contact ebay. But ebay sent me to her! We have since escalated the claim, whatever that means. VERY FRUSTRATING.
Im a good seller, with 100% positive ratings on ebay. The buyer has been on ebay since 2013 but has zero feedback.
This feels like a scam, and I’m a little amazed the hot steamy mess known as Paypal isn’t realizing it.
